A little clarity

Good questions. Straight answers.

What’s free, how we help, and where the boundaries are.

Are the agents really free?

Yes. nosugar and lactate are free and open source. You do not need an Ultracarb subscription to use them. External services you choose, such as hosting or model APIs, may have separate costs.

What does Ultracarb charge for?

We charge for integration, implementation, and support. We agree the scope and commercial terms with you before paid work starts. There is no agent subscription to unlock.

What’s the difference between nosugar and lactate?

nosugar is a native Python agent for a Python environment. lactate is an in-browser agent that runs in the client’s browser. The right choice depends on your application and where you need the agent to run.

Does in-browser mean everything stays offline?

Not necessarily. lactate runs in the browser, but the tools, models, and services connected to it may use a network or process data elsewhere. Data flows depend on the integration, and should be reviewed for your use case.

Where can I find the source code and license?

Contact us for the current source locations and license details for each agent. We haven’t listed repository URLs here rather than point you at an unverified source. Review the applicable project license before use.

Can you help us choose an agent?

Yes. Tell us about your stack, the workflow you want to improve, and any deployment or data constraints. We can discuss which runtime makes sense and what integration work would involve.

Do you offer fixed plans or guaranteed response times?

There are no standard subscription tiers on this site. Pricing, deliverables, support availability, and any service commitments are agreed for your engagement.
